Test mode
Build and test against the real API without sending messages or using SMS.
A test service account works like any other, against the same API and your real customers, with one difference: the messages and broadcasts it sends reach no one and use no SMS.
Use one while you build and test your integration, then switch to a normal service account when you go live.
Create a test service account
When you create a service account, turn on Test mode. It can't be turned off later. Tokens and keys from a test account work the same way as any other.
What's different
- Messages and broadcasts go through a test gateway instead of the real one. They aren't sent to anyone, and they don't use your SMS. A test text is marked delivered straight away.
- Everything else is real. Customers, segments and activity a test account adds are real records in your organization, so use test names, or delete them when you're done.
- Test messages show
"test": true, in API responses and in webhook events, so your system can tell them apart.
Test messages still go through every check a real one does, such as a valid phone number and an approved sender ID, so a request that works in test mode works live too.
